A very special flower

It's hiking day, and I know, you're tired of hearing about our hikes.  But today we were blessed to see a rare sight.  This sweet little purple flower is called the Maguire Primrose.  It is on the federal list of endangered plants.  It grows only in one place in the world, and that is Logan Canyon.  It grows on north facing rocky slopes and blooms the end of April through the middle of May.  So today we went on a hike to find this rare sight, and were successful.
Here are two pictures showing the flower up close.  Notice that it grows in the cracks of the rocks.  Some scientists believe that it needs the minerals in these rocks to grow.
And this shows the rock that it was growing in.  Can you find it?  Hint, it's on the left.
