A week in Peru: Some of the sights

In winter, Lima's skies are usually gray.  There is no rain, just mist.  You can see the city of Lima behind us as we traveled south to see the Pachicamac ruins.

On the way to the ruins, our tour took us up into the hills to show us the vehicles they use there.  Can you see the three-wheeled motorized carts?

Below are pictures from the ruins at Pachicamac.  It was a temple to the sun god built by the Pre-Inca tribes and changed and rebuilt by the Incas.  It is located about twenty miles south of Lima.  The green valley beside it is the Lurin River Valley and is green because of irrigation, not because of rain.

The Peruvian Hairless dog is quite the sight.  He has hair on the end of his tail and on his chin.

We had to take a picture of the sunset since it was so rare to see the sun peeking through the gray winter skies.
