Men filled all the choir seats, sopranos took two sections of the north balcony and altos two sections of the south balcony. You can't see the sopranos very well since I was sitting in that section, but just double the size of the alto section and you get the idea. The tabernacle was standing room only for the service. We sang America the Beautiful, God of our Fathers and three John Rutter pieces: For the Beauty of the Earth, Distant Land, and The Lord Bless you and Keep you. Clay Christiansen, Tabernacle Choir organist, came to accompany us and also played a solo of "Columbia the Gem of the Ocean.' In between each of our songs was a speaker. It was a great service.

When the former mayor got up to speak, his first comment was "Now I know what it's like to preach to the choir."
Good things are in store for this choir. It is going to be a great year!
