Here's this year's onion crop, from one row about ten feet long. Again, as last year, they grew to enormous sizes! I think the secrets are: buy onion PLANTS (not sets) and bring in compost. I also spray with Miracle Grow a few times during the summer. That one I'm touching is about the size of a small melon. Do you think that's the size they want in a recipe when it says "one large onion?"

No, I think that is about 3 times as big as "one large onion" :) Looks like you guys better have french onion soup! :)
